Florida coronavirus action could leave Yankees lost (New York Post)

If Florida officials enact a stay-at-home policy, the Yankees who have been at George M. Steinbrenner Field could be forced to stop working out and receiving treatment.

That would likely lead to Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu, Tyler Wade, Clint Frazier, Miguel Andujar and Luis Severino with the challenge of finding a place to work out.

That won’t be easy with many Florida gyms closed due to the coronavirus.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Freid has called on Gov. Ron DeSantis to implement a statewide stay-at-home policy. DeSantis said he was reluctant to attempt something “that people will not buy into” and not be sustainable and effective.

When the remainder of spring training was canceled March 12 and the start of the regular season delayed, the Yankees’ players voted unanimously to remain in Tampa to work out and be ready to chase a World Series title when the season started. However, two Yankees minor leaguers tested positive and many major leaguers and manager Aaron Boone headed home.
