Dodgers News: JT Chargois Released, Pursuing Opportunity with NPB Team (Dodgers Nation)

The Dodgers announced today that they have released right-handed pitcher JT Chargois. SportsNet LA reporter Alanna Rizzo shared the news.

JT Chargois spent the last two seasons with Los Angeles mostly earning frequent flier miles as he was shuttled back and forth between LA and Triple-A Oklahoma City. The righty posted a 4-5 record with a 4.53 ERA in 53.2 innings pitched overall with the Dodgers big league club.

The wording of Alanna’s tweet will no doubt be parsed and speculated over by rumorville on social media. Being released so that a player “can sign in Japan” is not a sentence you often read. Roster Spot

The move does open a roster spot for the Dodgers (another thing that the internet will speculate on). Ultimately this move likely came down to the Dodgers just no longer seeing Chargois in the 2020…
