Mets, Dellin Betances Agree To Terms (MLB Trade Rumors)

12:15pm: It’s a one-year guarantee, tweets MLB Network’s Jon Heyman. That terminology is somewhat subjective, though, as ESPN’s Jeff Passan tweets that Betances has not one but two player options on the contract. In essence, Betances is guaranteed three years with a rolling opt out after each season of the pact.

12:00pm: The Mets have agreed to a contract with free-agent right-hander Dellin Betances, Andy Martino of SNY reports (via Twitter). Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets that the Mets plan to officially announce the deal today. Terms aren’t yet known, though the longtime Yankees setup man was most recently¬†reported to be seeking a one-year deal in the $10MM range. Betances is represented by Excel Sports Management.
