Dodgers Showing Interest in Japanese Outfielder Yoshitomo Tsutsugo (Dodgers Nation)

The Dodgers are reportedly demonstrating a certain level of interest in Japanese outfielder Yoshitomo Tsusugo, which appears to be an interesting fit. According to Jon Paul Morosi, Tsutsugo is a better fit for the American League than a team like the Dodgers.

The primary reason Tsutsugo is viewed as a better fit for an American League club is because of his lack of defensive ability and his power bat — something that could easily fit in at a designated hitter spot.

Tsutsugo’s asking price will probably not be very high, but he might run up against the December 19 clock on his posting expiration.

For the Yokohama DeNa BayStars of the Nippon Professional Baseball League, Tsutsugo crushed 29 home runs.

While the Dodgers’ level of interest is probably pretty preliminary, it must have been enough to be able to report on behalf of Jon Morosi.
