Yankees’ Aaron Judge can’t contain Gerrit Cole excitement (New York Post)

Aaron Judge didn’t waste much time reacting to news the Yankees agreed to a deal with ace Gerrit Cole late Tuesday night.

The Yankees slugger tweeted a “smirking” emoji Tuesday night minutes after reports surfaced that Cole, perhaps the best free-agent pitcher in MLB history, was signing a nine-year, $324 million contract with the Yanks.

Cole immediately makes the Yankees the likely favorite to win the World Series, and his contract will surpass Stephen Strasburg’s seven-year deal worth $245 million to stay with the Nationals, signed on Monday, as the pitcher record.
