Astros cheating scandal a ‘tricky thing’ for Yankees’ CC Sabathia (New York Post)

Even if the Astros are severely disciplined by MLB for using technology to relay signs to their hitters at Minute Maid Park, it will never be proven those acts cost the Yankees trips to the World Series in 2017, when they lost in seven games in the ALCS, and this past season, when they were eliminated in six ALCS games.

The Astros won all four at home in 2017 and two of three in Houston this year.

CC Sabathia was a member of those Yankees teams and the losing pitcher in Game 7 of the 2017 ALCS. Tuesday, when he was honored as the March of Dimes Sportsman of the Year, Sabathia was asked about his feelings on the Astros being investigated by MLB for possible cheating.

“It’s weird, man, I don’t know,’’ the just-retired left-hander told The Post. “Some days I am like, ‘Hey, it is what it is,’ and other days I see certain other things and I am like, ‘Damn, that is a lot.’ It’s tough, I don’t know. It’s a tricky thing. It’s one thing to get signs from second base, but a monitor downstairs and all that stuff is coming out.’’
